Slingshot

A collaboration with Christopher Jarratt

Christopher Jarratt made this beautiful slingshot which I decorated with enamels especially for the Ben Oakley Gallery in Greenwich. If you’re in the area pop down and have a look around this lovely little gallery based south of the river in Greenwhich Market.

When to Stay Still

An exhibition of new work and installations by Jo Peel and Adam Makowiecki

I spent a week in the deep south west with the talented furniture artist Adam, www.seethroughblueplastic.com

painting the walls of the gallery and installing our show whilst staying in the lovely artist residence hotel.

There are more photos in the artwork section of this site and the show runs until the end of December.

SGP & Glastonbury festival

June and July 2011

Shangri-la, Glastonbury festival & Secret Garden Party

This year I was lucky enough to spend the beginning of the summer in a field. Shangri-la in Glastonbury was the first place to be adorned by my pastings, before decamping to Cambridgeshire and creating some large-scale art pieces for the fantastically beautiful SGP.

Community, London

May 2011

LAVA gallery, London

For my first solo show of 2011, LAVA collective invited me to their gallery in Carnaby St. I created a small housing estate from cardboard and made a mess of the gallery by filing it with orange bricks and covering the walls in paint! … thanks to the guys at LAVA collective for making it happen and to everyone who made it down!

Penzance Art Hotel

April 2011

Artist residence hotel, Penzance

The lovely people down at artist residence hotel in Cornwall asked me to design one of their bedrooms. I didn’t need asking twice, so headed down to Cornwall with a bag full of spray paint and some brushes… here are some pictures of the finished room.

Stop frame animation, Brazil

January 2011

Bahia, Brazil

Invited out to Brazil for an exciting art project, things took an unexpected turn for the worst when masked gunmen awoke us during the night and took everything!

Unfortunately, for fear of their return, we had to run away and the work will never be completed, but here are a few frames salvaged from another memory card.

Cabana Painting

January  2011

Itacare, Brazil

After seeking refuge in a nearby town, a local Cabana owner was kind enough to let me use some of the paint I had salvaged and here are the results. Thank you for the lovely people who fed and watered me as I painted in the sunshine.
